Our Pickering fruit shop.

After 58 years of trading in Pickering our fruit and vegetable shop sadly has closed its doors for good.

We would like to thank the many loyal customers that have shopped with us over the years.

We hope you are able to visit our nursery at Ebberston where we will have the same range of fruit and veg as we have had in the Pickering shop.

Why has the shop closed?

There are many factors that have had a negative effect on the independent greengrocers all over the country.

In our case the main loss of trade came from the building of a budget supermarket on land that should have been used for convenient town centre parking.

Problems with importing fruit and vegetables due to Brexit have almost doubled the price of many imported varieties.

Covid converted some of our customers to supermarket delivery services.

Spiralling operating costs also have had a big factor.
